specialized headhunters who mostly work in HR consulting companies.\n\nRecruiters who provide executive search services specialize in using direct methods to reach people holding high positions and, therefore, often with unique competencies.\n\nAs part of executive search activities, candidates are searched for and contacted using the following methods:\n<ul>\n \t<li>contact via social networks, e.g. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Linkedin<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Xing<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Facebook<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n \t<li>direct phone call to the company<\/li>\n \t<li>face-to-face meeting (e.g. at a conference)<\/li>\n \t<li>contact through your own networking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nUntil now, it was believed that such activities are questionable from the point of view of business ethics, and for this reason employers used intermediaries &#8211; recruitment firms.\n\nWith the spread of the Linkedin network, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sourcing_(personnel)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">sourcing tools<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/elementapp.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">applicant tracking systems<\/a><\/span> (like <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/elementapp.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Element<\/a><\/span>), and the Internet, the know-how related to executive search activities has become generally available. Currently, executive search activities are carried out by recruitment companies and internal HR departments of employers alike.\n\nThe use of direct and executive search activities by internal HR departments has become popular, in particular, in the IT industry.
