News from the labour market - data from the ATS Element in the Rzeczpospolita report

The latest report from the Rzeczpospolita publishes July data from the labor market. Among the data sources, Element’s recruitment system was present again. Element’s Job Monit feature provides users of our ATS with always new data about the Polish labor market’s recruitment needs and the popularity of job boards.

Here are the key findings from the Rzeczpospolita report:

  • July is, in most industries, a brake on the growth in job openings that occurred in previous months. This has to do with, among others, the market’s expectation for further developments.
  • Growth is the IT and e-commerce industry, as well as sales, logistics, and customer service positions. This is confirmed by data from Element ATS, and one of the biggest polish job boards – Pracuj.pl,
  • According to Adecco Group data, 42% of companies plan new recruitments between August and October.

The labor market is making up for losses! Data from the Element System - June 2020

Despite the beginning of the summer holidays, the labor market is still making up for the losses caused by the freezing of the economy and the restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic. Check the latest data that appeared in the report prepared in cooperation with Element and Grant Thornton Poland.

Polish labor market in June 2020

In June, 246,000 job offers were published on Polish recruitment websites, i.e. 25% more than in May and over 57% more than in April. Compared to June last year, the number of job offers is only 16% lower. These data show that the labor market is slowly returning to the state it had before the government restrictions. Employers are making bolder decisions, employees are returning from home office to company offices and further recruitments are planned. In addition, the report also gives hope for the future. It is very likely that the situation will return to normal in a few weeks and the labor market will stabilize for good.

Data source - monitoring module in the Element system

The report was prepared by Element and Grant Thornton Poland. The data is collected using the automatic job monitoring tool provided by the Element system. A specially built-in module allows you to monitor and analyze over 50 of the most popular portals in Poland.

We've made a video promoting our new app idea!

Na pierwszym planie znajduje się operator kamery, który nagrywa osobę opowiadającą o nowej aplikacji. Postacie stoją na chodniku pośród drzew

The Element team has recently participated in making a video – realized by Rewi Studio – which will promote our new application! This video will be used as part of the #AplikacjeJutraPFR competition organized by the Polish Development Fund. We will soon present the video and our innovative idea aimed at combating the crisis in the post pandemic labor market!

A few words about the assumptions of the #AplikacjeJutraPFR competition

The main purpose of the #AplikacjeJutraPFR competition is to design software that will counteract the negative effects of the coronavirus crisis. The Polish Development Fund has challenged participants in the areas of: health, work and entrepreneurship, as well as society. Having many years of experience in the preparation of the Element recruitment system, we could not pass by this task indifferently and quickly went to work on a completely new application that will help fight the crisis in the field of work and entrepreneurship.

New Element team application

AThe application we submit to the „Aplikacje Jutra” competition will connect employees, employers, colleges and training companies. It will significantly contribute to the improvement of communication and exchange of information on the demand on the labor market, as well as strengthen cooperation. The main goal of the software prepared by our experienced team will be to solve the problem of staff shortage with appropriate competencies and qualifications and connecting jobseekers with employer. The application will help employers to find suitable candidates, employees in planning their career path,  and training companies and universities to adapt their curricula to the needs of the labor market.

The film promoting our idea will be available soon. Photos were taken in various locations throughout the Tri-City. Thanks to the video you will get to know our idea and the innovative way in which we want to solve the problems of the labor market that are particularly visible in the age of pandemic and post-pandemic period.

Hiring during the COVID-19 crisis

For the needs of the Rzeczpospolita newspaper, we provided data from our Element recruitment system. They were obtained through constant monitoring of job offers, which are published on over fifty of the most popular portals in Poland.

Jobs hiring during coronavirus pandemic- Element Recruitment system report

The data from Element ATS show that sellers currently have the largest selection of job offers. In May they could find nearly seven thousand job propositions. Warehouses, as well as production employees, cannot complain about the lack of offers. The first of them could find over five thousand on portals, and the second over three thousand offers.

Unfreezing the economy and the labor market - Element monitoring

As shown by the data collected by the Element recruitment system, during the lockdown, the general food and e-commerce industries, as well as the logistics industry and warehouses, fared best. On the other hand, the number of offers for white-collar workers, specialists and managers dropped dramatically. People involved in the catering industry had a problem finding a job.

Unfreezing the economy resulted in an increase in the number of offers in all industries. (You can read about that in our article ‚Recruitment needs May 2020 – Grant Thornton report and Element ATS.’) The percentage of the most offers has risen to the position of chef. This should not come as a surprise in the context of loosening restrictions on restaurants.

The datas from the Element ATS recruitment system show that despite the defrosting of the economy, specialists and managers remain in the most difficult situation on the labor market. Compared to May 2019, the number of offers in this case has fallen by more than half. Chief accountants are an exception to the rule. The coronavirus pandemic did not affect the number of job vacancies in accounting departments, as accounting is necessary regardless of the situation.

Do you want to find out more about the situation on the labor market and a positive forecast for specialists and managers? Read the article „The largest selection of job offers now have sellers and warehousemen”, which was based on the datas from the Element system and appeared in Rzeczpospolita.

Recruitment needs in Poland – May 2020 – Grant Thornton and Element Report

We bring positive signals from the labor market! In May, the number of offers increased by 37.7%

The coronavirus pandemic and government restrictions have shaken the economy and the Polish labor market. In April 2020, the number of offers compared to the previous year fell by more than half. However, the latest study shows, that the biggest crisis is behind us and we are slowly coming out of a deep hole. Do you want to know what may brought us? We invite you to read our new article.

Grant Thornton in cooperation with our Recruitment System Element has prepared a report on the labor market during the coronavirus pandemic. This is the third edition. This time, job offers published in May were taken into account. Thanks to the use of our automatic job monitoring tool – Element – the data were collected from as many as 50 job portals (e.g. OLX, LinkedIn, Pracuj.pl, Praca.pl) .

As expected, the polish labor maeket has rebounded. Compared to April, the number of job offers increased by 37.7%. And although we still see a clear drop (by 41.6%) compared to the previous year – that gives hope for the coming months.

Diversified situation in major cities - Grant Thornton and Element Recruitment system report

The report shows a large diversity in the local labor markets of the largest cities. The smallest decrease compared to the previous year was recorded in Kraków, it is 37%, and there are almost 12 job offers per 1000 inhabitants. In turn, the worst situation is in Poznań, where the decline is as much as 74%, and there are slightly more than two job offers per 1000 inhabitants.

Few office jobs, a lot for chief accountants

Our report shows that the crisis caused by COVID-19 primarily affected administrative staff. The lowest decrease was recorded in the areas of financial professions. The chief accountants may choose even more offers than before the pandemic was announced in Poland.

According to the report, the newest offers concern blue-collar workers and they constitute as much as 56% of all ads. In turn, the demand for white-collar workers decreased from 72% in May 2019 to only 44% in the same month this year.

Higher requirements, fewer benefits

The crisis caused by the coronavirus and the reduced number of job offers meant that employers can afford to increase the requirements for candidates, while at the same time giving up benefits previously offered.

Entrepreneurs are primarily looking for employees with extensive professional experience and specific education, as well as available. As for benefits, employers most often began to give up medical packages and sportscard subsidies.

Element Recruitment System, how the data were collected

The data for the Grant Thornton report was collected thanks to our Element recruitment system. We use a modern tool to monitor job offers that are published on more than fifty recruitment websites in Poland. The Element system analyzes the data contained in tens of thousands of advertisements and provides comprehensive reports on the recruitment needs of Polish entrepreneurs seeking employees.

Find your next recruitment project

The pandemic is stopping the recruitment processes. It is more difficult to find companies that are looking for candidates and even more challenging to find companies that want to support themselves with professional recruitment services.

In recent conversations with Element‚s users, I received clear feedback that the feature which monitors recruitment ads brings massive value to recruiters looking for new projects. It was this feedback that led me to write this message.

Monitoring module in ATS - effectiveness

Our system monitors thousands of job ads every day and automatically notifies users about new chances to get another recruitment project. The more companies a recruiter has in the system, the more notifications he or she receives.

When I contact the users, I ask about the effectiveness of this tool. I regularly receive information about new offers being placed, new contracts signed, and newly commissioned projects. All thanks to the feature of job ads monitoring. One of the recruiters wrote yesterday:

„Notifications about ads make it very easy for us to „control” our clients in terms of new recruitments, so they are very useful and allow us to react very quickly :).”

Element not only helps to attract new customers. It also allows to react faster to the needs of existing partners, and to return to those with whom cooperation has been suspended for some reason.

ATS Element system - adapted to the needs

If you are representing a recruitment agency and you don’t use Element yet, don’t wait, contact me, and I will show you the benefits of this particular feature and the whole system.

If you are an internal recruiter, we will soon have something for you too. The pandemic has slowed down our work on the development of the system; however, we will soon present some innovative solutions which are vainly available in competitive offers.

Contact me. I will be happy to show you how Element helps to find those projects that are still to be found, as well as the functionality of the new version of the system „Element 2.0”, which we are currently working on.

Recruitment needs of selected industries in Poland - April 2020 - Element ATS Recruitment Report

The latest Element ATS recruitment report, including an update on recruitment needs in several key sectors of the Polish economy. We deliberately waited with the update until the end of April. We wanted to present the recruitment data from the whole month, and not only it’s the first part, where business was affected not only by the pandemic but also by Easter.

Recruitment data collected with our ATS is presented, as usual, on a chart. The chart takes into account both April and the first quarter, which was a little bit more widely discussed in our previous reports.

Report (click to enlarge)

Recruitment report ATS - April 2020

I am not going to analyze the data or make predictions of what the increase (hopefully) in recruitment needs will look like in the coming months. However, no particular analysis is needed to conclude that April was by far the worst month of this year. This poor record is undoubtedly due to not only pandemic but Easter as well.

It is worth noting that the ICT industry, which has been holding firm in the first quarter, has been under pressure and recorded a slightly higher loss than the financial industry. The hospitality industry dived by far the strongest, by 83% compared to the January level.

I sincerely hope and wish everyone that in the May report, the indicators will start to rebound from the current level.

In a few days’ time, we will publish the updated recruitment report on specific job positions in Poland.

IT report in Rekruter Magazine and new data on the recruitment market from Element ATS

Recruiter Magazine published a report on recruitment in the Polish IT industry in the first quarter of this year. Data for the report was provided by Element ATS

Link to the article: https://www.magazynrekruter.pl/najbardziej-pozadani-kandydaci-it/

We encourage everyone interested in recruitment in the IT industry to read it.

Another report from the ATS system

In the first week of May, on our blog, we will publish a summary of job offers available in Poland in April. The report will cover recruitment in all major industries. It will, therefore, be a continuation of our report summarizing the number of job offers in the first quarter. The report is available here: https://elementapp.ai/blog/coronavirus-new-labour-market-information-and-recruitment-report/.

By the way, I looked at the new recruitment data in our ATS today and see that this week there has been a slight increase in the number of job offers compared to the first two weeks of April. However, the beginning of April is a holiday period, so a comparison with the data from March will be more appropriate.

ATS report from March

In the last week of March, an average of about 9 thousand job offers were published daily on portals monitored by our applicant tracking system. This figure fell to around 6,000 daily job offers in April, but rose to just over 8,000 last Tuesday (21 April). Was this a one-off increase or the first signs of the market returning to life? At the beginning of May, we will present new data from all major industries, then we will know something more about the current recruitment needs of the Polish market.

How does our ATS collect data on job offers? The technology we have been developing for several years in our applicant tracking system, is described in more detail in this article: https://elementapp.ai/blog/monitoring-of-recruitment-agency-clients-needs/.

IT recruitment on the Polish market in Q1 2020. Element ATS Report.

Pandemic is a time when I can focus more on working with the programming team developing our ATS, as well as on creating more reports. Therefore, here we have yet another report, which presents data on recruitment activities in the Polish IT market.

The data comes from the tools used in our ATS to monitor the recruitment market. Thanks to these tools, our recruitment system analyses the content of job ads published on several dozen job boards and Linkedin portal.

The first list is the number of job offers in the IT industry, registered by our ATS, broken down into individual months of the first quarter. It is worth mentioning here that in the first quarter of this year, more than 3000 companies have published job offers.

More offers in the IT industry - ATS Element report

Our data shows that, contrary to our fears, there was a significant increase in the number of job offers in March. This increase is exceptional in the scale of the whole market. According to our previous research, the vast majority of the labor market recorded strong declines in recent weeks. Links to other reports can be found at the end of the article.

IT Job offers - Jan-Feb-March 2020 - ATS Element report

companies publishing the most offers - ATS Element report

The second list presents twenty companies that published the most job offers in the IT industry in the first quarter. The graph presents the number of recruitment offers in particular months, as well as in the entire first quarter. Among the leaders we have such entities as Hays, Capgemini, Astek, TeamQuest, Grafton, Luxoft and Sii.

In the next ranking, we summarized the data of the ten companies which, according to the data from our ATS, published the largest number of recruitment offers. These are the companies: HaysCapgeminiAstekTeamQuestGraftonLuxoft, Sii, UBS Service Centre, Devire, and NBC. For each company, we have prepared a list of six:
  • the most frequently appearing jobs
  • the most frequent recurring locations
  • most frequently used recruitment portals
First, a summary of all ten companies (click to enlarge):

and broken down into individual companies (click to enlarge):

I limit my role primarily to providing job offers data from Element ATS, so I will not make a wider comment here. I will just point out that the increase in the number of recruitment offers in March is interesting. I wonder to what extent this increase results from the actual increase in employers’ recruitment needs, and to what extent it is a result of the strategy of building a database of candidates who are certainly much more active on the recruitment market during the pandemic.

Impact of coronavirus on recruitment - selected positions, Q1 2020. Element ATS report.

Yet another report based on data gathered from Element ATS. Last week we published a report on the impact of coronavirus on the number of job offers in particular industries. This time we publish a report on specific job positions.

We analyzed several thousand job ads from the whole first quarter of this year. The results include a dozen or so of the most frequently appearing job positions.

Naturally, the biggest changes in the demand for employee recruitment appeared in March. According to the data from our ATS, the number of job offers has decreased sharply in almost all analyzed positions. The biggest drops concern such workplaces as:

  • Manual worker: -61,68%
  • Kitchen help: -59,18%
  • Cook: -55,07%

Our ATS has also recorded increases:

  • Machine operator: 12,76%
  • Software developer: 19.97%

software developer - ATS Element system report

I looked closely at the number of job offers for the software developer position. By „software developer” position, I mean all types of positions that concern software production in all of today’s key technologies (java, php, python, C++, C#, ruby, .net, javascript, etc.). I wonder what the reason for the almost 20% increase in the number of job offers for these positions is?

As I mentioned in previous reports, the IT industry is exceptionally resistant to coronavirus. Home office in this industry is nothing unusual for many companies, and for some, it is a normal way of operating. An additional element may be a slowdown in sales through traditional channels, which has caused an increase in e-commerce (source). However, not only e-commerce could have an impact on it. Customer service in banks, insurance companies, and other institutions also had to be moved to the Internet.

I looked into more data from our ATS system to see what was the number of job offers for the software developer position in each week of March.

The result indicates that in March alone, the number of job offers fell. Additionally, the most significant difference was between the last two weeks of March. Is this enough to draw any conclusions? I’m not sure. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the ICT industry reacted to the coronavirus with a delay. Perhaps it is also due to the fact that the recruitment needs for e-commerce and e-contractor projects were saturated at the end of the month. Perhaps, however, the reasons are completely different.

If there are people among the readers who can correctly interpret the large increase in recruitment announcements for the broadly defined position of a software developer, in March compared to January and February, I will be obliged to explain.

At the end of the statistics on employment reduction in March in the United States. I think that they illustrate well how unevenly the coronavirus treats individual areas of the economy, CNBC source:
